A native New Yorker, Katelynn made the move to Chicago 6 years ago(I think 10 makes you a true Chicagoan?). Her previously recorded EPs can be heard under the band name "Kate and the black roses", and she is releasing her newest ep “for you” on 7/21!
Kate and the black roses can best be described as somewhere in between indie rock, pop, and folk, with the heaviest influences being Joni Mitchell, Fiona Apple, Portishead and the like.
